Project Overview

This project was completed for the iconic Canadian brand BeaverTails, with the goal of redesigning their original logo. The existing logo relied heavily on typography and felt outdated. The challenge was to modernize the brand while maintaining its heritage and recognizability.

The Challenge

The original logo lacked a strong visual element and didn’t translate well across digital and physical platforms. The client wanted a refreshed logo that remained familiar to long-time customers but also felt current and visually engaging.

  • Create a more visual representation of BeaverTails, while preserving the brand’s identity.

  • Retain key elements such as the original color palette for consistency and nostalgia.

  • Develop a versatile logo system, including alternate versions for digital use and brand applications.

  • Ensure the design was fun, approachable, and modern, while paying tribute to the company’s Canadian roots.

The Concept & Design

The new logo centers around a beaver mascot, a playful yet symbolic choice that reflects both the product name and Canadian culture. The use of a badge-style design represents Canadian pride and gives the logo structure and versatility.

  • Color palette: Limited to three client-approved colors that evoke a sense of nostalgia and tradition.

  • Beaver character: Adds charm and personality, making the brand more visually memorable.

  • Modern touches: Refined shapes and layout give the logo a fresh, contemporary feel without losing its heritage.
